Nocturnal Bogota
Nocturnal Bogotá (Bogotá Nocturna) was developed as a public workshop for the ‘En Tiempo Real’ sound festival, led by the sound artists and musician Ana Maria Romano. The workshop considered the urban experience of walking at night as women and LGBQT+2. The multigenerational group workshop modelled a collective walking methodology; we sought walking methodologies in the public space at night, questioning and delving into questions of agency and safety. These strategies were shared among participants during a four-day workshop, and an AR (Augmented Reality) walk was developed based on the participant’s experience living in Bogotá, Colombia.
Collective discussions were created, and their concerns involve the following questions that are part of the corpus of this project:
What does night mean in terms of territory and worldview in Abya Yala? The night from the time-space of the communities in Bogotá. What strategies can we generate to inhabit the street at night as a community? How can we use this device to make gender and violence problems visible in public spaces?
This project was presented at the “En Tiempo Real Festival.”
