Paper Noise Cut-out

Paper Noise cut out is one short animation, from a video series created from 35 mm pictures. The photos are taken from wheat-paste collages placed in the city of Montreal by Collages Féministes & Feminicides Montréal. The author, Amanda Gutiérrez, reflects the process of deconstructing a map archive by selecting and abstracting them into cut-outs animations.

The Soundtrack is produced by the collective #VIVAS, which works and produces sound and live performance developed from a collective sound database of field recordings of feminist political marches in Latin America. This video was produced for the solo exhibition titled, Paper Noise in the artist residency at SBC Contemporary Art Gallery, located in Montreal the unceded land of Tio’ta: kié.
